Hurricane Ike

On Friday, September 12 the Jackson County Emergency Evacuation Director recommended that we cancel the show for Tuesday, September 16.  He said that if the storm came through Jackson County the Services Building would be used as a Command Center or for evacuees.  We started notifying guests by this website, e-mails and phone calls.  I have an e-mail list I use to remind guests of each upcoming show and of any bad weather problems.  If you would like your name added to this list, please send me an e-mail at:  rortolon@warpspeed1.net  You can also call Charlie Kroll at home or his cell phone to check on the show.  Thank you.  Roy Ortolon

Mark Gruetzner, singer-songwriter for the County Road 114 Band since 2003, brings a unique voice that some say has a "country cry" to it. He has written several songs, including Chasin' Whiskey and Her Good Lovin', recorded on the band's first CD, Chasin' Dreams. Mark never leaves a gig without someone hollering out to play Smokey Mountain Memories or Folsom Prison Blues. His roots are in traditional country, and he plans to keep it that way!

Other Performers on program:

  • Dennis Patterson – Gonzales,
  • Priscilla Speed - Staples, Texas
  • Suzie Watts - Seguin, Texas
  • The Flag City Opry Band

Hospice donation #1 - When Flag City Opry was approved to use the Jackson County Services Building in April 2007, one of it's goals as a non-profit organization was to donate all profits from ticket sales to Hospice of South Texas.  The first check for $1,000 was presented to Rita williams from Hospice of South Texas on November 20, 2007.  We have been blessed with good attendance since moving into the new facility and plan to continue providing good family entertainment that will keep the show going.
